What a more perfect way to spend Father’s Day than launching projectiles into the sky. I know that for some Father’s Day and that weekend will not work out but if you can come we will have a really great time.
We will then plan on Sunday May 16, 2013 at Garrard Landing Park (located where Holcomb Bridge Road crosses the Chattahoochee River on the South side of the road). Festivities start at 1:00 PM and runs through 4:00 PM or until we run out of engines. Unfortunately, Jorge Blanco, of SOAR cannot be with us this day but we believe we have enough equipment to do the launch ourselves. I used to be a big geek when it came to model rocketry and have lots of experience on how to and how not to launch a rocket (lessons well learned). If you have a launch pad and ignitor system, please bring it with you. I will bring a multiple launch base that we can slide your launch rods into. We could use at least 8 ignitor systems total.
As before invite a friend and any new 1st graders in your neighborhood. We will have some extra rockets for guests to launch. Uniform will be Class B.
