On Sunday, May 19th, from 12 – 3 p.m., we will meet for our last Pack meeting of the year to celebrate our year in scouting with our annual Rocket Launch and Crossover Ceremony.
We will be joined by a representative from the Southern Area Rocketry association (SOAR) to guide to a safe and fun rocket launch. We will be launching our rockets from Gerrard Park at the Chattahoochee River Recreational Center at 8000 Holcolm Bridge Road (turn in at the Johnson Ferry WWTP, across the street from Fire Station 7).
You can find the directions here:
Now is the time to pick out a rocket to build with your scout, or if you already have a rocket, make sure to grab some engines for it. You can find great rockets at HobbyTown or Hobby Lobby. We strongly suggest that you only use A or B size rocket engines so we don’t lose our rockets if they go too high.
During the crossover ceremony, we will be handing out new neckerchiefs and handbooks for the new year. We’ll be serving refreshments, but make sure to bring your sunscreen and hats and your water bottles. This will be a great way to celebrate our scouts earning their next rank and moving onwards in Cub Scouts.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
